The colour of the spring foliage on the willows is exquisite. Time to do some watercolours that reflect the vibrance of the greens and yellows against the cool blue of the sky. Willows are so inspiring. Even when they are bent over and pruned poorly. India Ink and watercolour. I tried the elegant writer calligraphy pen by Speedball and like how much fun it was to add water to the lines .The ink separates and you get three colours : black, blue and pink. Then add a contrast of yellow or green. Sounds like a Willow tree might be interesting with that calligraphy pen.
Well I don't teach watercolour anymore. One person made me feel like it was't worth the work to prepare lessons. People are better off to learn it on their own. Like I did. Why take lessons on watercolour and not want to learn wet-in-wet techniques. Refuse to take advise on the correct brushes to use and lie about not having had lessons before. For me, Watercolour is so much fun to do, but when teaching it, I noticed some people became childish and whined when it didn't look like they wanted. It is not for the faint of heart. It took me over 20 years to paint like I do. I am still learning and evolving. I will stop doing that when I am in the grave.
Art is a place I escape to. It gives me solace. I didn't know that it would take over my life. But when I gave up the profession of nursing and pursued it, I have never looked back.
